The Studio…

The studio is where ideas take form — a space for clay, light, and quiet experimentation. Each piece begins with touch and moves through a slow, intentional rhythm of forming, drying, sanding, and firing. The process is grounded and patient, meant to invite presence.

I work primarily in mid-fire stoneware, blending and layering clays to create natural tonal variation and subtle pattern. Many surfaces are left unglazed and hand-sanded to a soft, matte finish that reveals the clay’s quiet depth. Others are fired and then waxed, or paired with hand-finished metal elements, to explore balance, contrast, and warmth.

The work centers on sculptural forms and lighting — pieces made to hold presence and support a meaningful experience of home.

For the lighting line, I collaborate closely with designer and craftsman Mark Figueredo, whose architectural eye and technical expertise help shape the refinement and engineering of illuminated pieces. His hand-finished metal components bring structure and balance to the ceramic forms, creating a thoughtful interplay between material and light.

Whether I’m building a vessel, a light, or a wall piece, the process stays slow and intentional — a way of staying connected to material, energy, and the act of making itself.
